Ingredients:
- 4 artichokes
- 2 cups of Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 2/3 cups of garlic powder
- 2 tbsp of salt
- 2 tbsp of black pepper
- Cheddar Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- Cut stem off so artichoke lays flat on surface. Discard the stems.
- Cut each artichoke tip off. Each tip is sharp. Discard all the trimmed pieces.
- Get a saucepan large enough to fit all 4 artichokes. Put the Artichokes in the saucepan. Fill with enough water covering the artichokes. The artichokes might float to the surface of the water and that’s ok. Add a pinch of salt. Put on stove and bring to a boil.
- Remove saucepan from stove and let it sit for 15 mins.
- In a bowl mix Italian breadcrumb, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and black pepper.
- Drain saucepan, remove artichokes and place them on a plate
- Push back the leaves and with a spoon start stuffing the leaves with the mix. Stuff all of them.
- Place artichokes in a glass cookware. Add water to just the base of the baking dish. This will create a steaming effect when cooking.
- Sprinkle on the crushed cheddar pepper flakes
- Add a light layer of butter to the top of each artichoke. Cover baking dish with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 10 min.
- Remove baking dish from oven and serve.
